New Special Education Teachers will: 1. Understand their roles and responsibilities, understand support structures in Special Education in DPS, and understand where to locate resources to support their work. 2. Understand eligibility and IEP process and structures, understand expectations for meeting facilitation, practice facilitation moves role-played IEP meetings and problems of practice. 3. How to organize their caseload by timelines, scheduling strategies and structures, communication to prioritize with general education teachers, families, and teammates, how to approach new students/transfers/enrollment.
